When you boot your Windows computer are you going straight to your Desktop or do you have to enter login info every time? Well if you are the only user of the computer (or you can share nicely) there is a way to get right where you want to be on boot up.
You will need to select a password if you haven't done so already. Open the Users Account from the Control panel and choose your account from the list. Click on "Create a password" and then type a password. Next to to Start - Run and then type in control userpasswords2 and then click OK. This will run a different User Account window. Now uncheck the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" box. When you are prompted, type your username and password (twice) and click OK. From now on you won't have to log in manually and the Windows Welcome screen will no longer display on startup.
